How is your day?

Well I have made up my mind to sell my 1988 Corvette. It has taken me awhile to get here but I have a dog that cannot ride in the front seat (too tall), cannot ride in the cargo area (too long), and wants to go everywhere I go, soooooooooooooo.

I love this car but it just has to go. We will see.

videoWe have spent the week here at the ocean. Today I took Barkley to a location on the inlet called Jockey's Park. He swam in the water even though it was salty. He just doesn't like the noise and the power of the ocean waves. It was cooler today and Gail studied for the most part and she and Barkley are taking a nap. We are leaving here Saturday for Durham. Will spend a little time there and leave Monday for home. Not looking forward to snow. We did not have much when we left. If you look at Angela's pictures it looks like the most we have had all winter.

It will be Angela's birthday and I will not be home. that is sad for me as we were always on vacation together, when she was young. Life changes.

We are sending this little bit of spring home with the hope it will last until spring.

Taxes are put to bed

Gail and I got up early woke Barkley of course and off we went to the kennel to play puppy. Carol is blessed with two litters of labradoodles right now and they will soon be ready to go home. We get the blessing of playing with them. Awww puppy breath. The puppy Gail is holding is Lily Willis and she will be going home with Ben Kirsten and their family at the end of the month. She is half sister to Barkley sitting in front of Gail. Seems just yesterday that we were holding him and waiting for the time when we would take him home with us. He will be 3 years old on March 13th it just doesn't seem possible. Gail is going off to book club this afternoon and then she and I will be off to a birthday party tonight. It has been a long week. The taxes are put to bed for another year. We had a couple miner glitches but nothing that could not be fixed. Now it is time to get ready for a new tax year and a new computer program. I think Karen and I are looking forward to that. I was hoping for a vacation but I spent the money on the roof. I think I will veg for a few.

Just a great Friday.

Do you know this couple?
Well they were up early this morning, did the township work, recycled, bought vitamins. Took the dog to play group. Oh yeah went to get car license plates for their birthdays.
This was about ages 30 and 40. It is about 30 years later. Gosh time does fly when you're having fun. Gail just said "you look a little tired there baby!" I wonder why???

Barkley just wanted to remind everyone that it is hunting season and people in the woods seem to be shooting at anything that moves. He for one is staying in his yard or walking on his leash. He still wears orange even when he is on his leash.
He says he will go to play group more over the next couple weeks just to get exercise.
He is in great shape going into winter and he does not want to put on any weight so he will watch what he eats, walk, and play with his friends every chance he gets.

I was at Acme Creek Kennel playing with puppies yesterday and she reminded me that we had not blogged in ages. I was sitting here thinking about Mother's Day. I forgot to remember. I am the only daughter of an only daughter and an only daughter and so forth. The tradition continues. Angela you are a beautiful woman and I am very proud of you. Beth and Kirsten you are both wonderful. I love you all. L

It is hunting season.

Well, leaves are coloring, temperature is dropping and rifles can be heard in the woods. Barkley is good about wearing his hunting togs. After all he is a hunting dog. It is hard not to let him run and play. The beach will be off limits for 10 days as it is being sprayed with poison for phragmites. Vicious weeds that grow expediently when you aren't looking. They will in side of two years prevent you from using the beach. They must go.
All is well. Kids are back in school. Jim is coming home for a 10 day leave and Jessie is floating around on the Nimitz in the middle of the ocean. Finishing up summer taxes and getting ready for winter.
